BUSINESS HISTORICAL SOCIETY PUBLISHES FIRST VOLUME

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first publication of the Business Historical Society, which has its headquarters in the Harvard Business Library, is just off the press. The book, entitled "The Industrial and Commercial Correspondence of Alexander Hamilton," compiled by A.H. Cole, assistant professor of Economics in the University, is being distributed to the members of the society this week.

These letters are the raw material," according to F.C. Ayres, executive secretary of the society, "from which Hamilton wrote his report on manufactures, which gave the first impetus to the protective tariff in this country and was the first attempt to survey the industrial resources of the United States. The book should be of interest to those who are turning to the past to help in solving present day economic conditions."
