In a fairly even match the University grapplers defeated the Springfield College aggregation by a score of 16 to 18 on Saturday night in the Hemenway Gymnasium: The meet was characterized by its fast, open, chance-taking type of wrestling. Of the seven men representing the Crimson in the match all except L.S. Chibas '28 and E.C. Sykes '29 were Sophomores. W.H. Boldt '30 in place of Captain T.H. Howe '28 in the unlimited class, was wrestling in his first match for the University. The best match of the evening was the 158-pound event staged between J.F. Solano '30, and L.H. Hopf, representing Springfield. Solano finally won by a fall after nearly six minutes of grappling.
