DRAMATIC CLUB GIVES ANNUAL MIRACLE PLAY

NEW SPECIALTY ACT ADDED TO COMING ATTRACTION

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The annual Christmas miracle play of the Harvard Dramatic Club this year will be given on December 19 and 20, against the cathedral background of the Germanic Museum. "Dublin Cycle" translated from the Gaelic by Katherine Tynan Hinkson, has been selected and will make its initial performance in America. One of the classics of Gaelic literature, "Dublin Cycle" has retained all its native beauty of rhyme and action because of the fine work of Miss Hinkson in translation. The production will be directed by Gerald Harrington '31 and will be open without charge to all members of the audience of "Fiesta".

Will Broadcast Two Scenes

The radio public will be given an advance taste tonight of that forth-coming production when two scenes from this colorful comedy of Mexican life will be broadcast from station WBZ from 8.30 to 9 o'clock. At the same time it was announced that a pleasing addition has been made to the play in the form of a special guitar duet with vocal accompaniment to be given by two Latin-American Harvard students, J. L. Cordova '31 and Manuel Manduley '31. This Mexican folk song rendition, which will be incorporated in the flesta scene of the third act, is expected not only to lend additional beauty and realism to the production, but also to supplement the stringed orchestra which the Dramatic Club is assembling from its regular music unit especially for the play.

Cordova and Manduley Play Duet

The talents of both Cordova and Manduley in this direction are well known at Harvard. The former is a native of Porto Rico and, in addition to concerts and solo work, has done extensive research work in the folk music of his country and Mexico. Manduley, whose home is in Havana, is possessed of exceptional ability with the guitar and is cast for one of the leading parts. The duet, which fits well into the theme of the play, should not only round it out pleasingly and naturally, but vie closely for the favor of the audience with the special dance by Gloria Bragiotil.
