For another year the announcement of the mid-year records of students reveals an increase in the percentage of men achieving Dean's List standing. There are 599 men on the list this year, or 18.3 percent of the total undergraduate registration, as compared with 579 last year or 17.9 percent of the enrollment.
Two years ago there were only 500 men placed on the list, making a percentage of 16.6.
The 599 men are those whose work has been consistently of B average or better, and who stand in one of the first three scholastic groups.
During the past half-year, 37 students attained Group 1, the minimum requirement for which is 3 1/2 A's and 1/2 B, 145 men were put in Group 2, having achieved 1 1/2 A's and 2 1/2 B's, while 417 men won places in Group 3 with 3 1/2 B's and 1/2 C.
These figures show an increase over last year's mid-year results of 8 in Group 1, and 16 in Group 3, although there has been a drop of four in Group 2.
The complete list of students who have been put on the Dean's List, by winning places in any of the first three scholastic groups, has been posted in University Hall.
