CRIMSON SEXTET TAKES ON LAVAL

Harvard Won Then, 3 to 0--Frenchmen Predominate on Invading Ice Team of Montreal

In its first appearance since the game with Boston University the University sextet will meet Laval University of Montreal on the Arena ice at 8:15 o'clock this evening. After a week's cessation of practice, the team had its first real practice yesterday afternoon; but in spite of this layoff should easily regain the stride it was holding in the earlier games of the season.

Laval here in 1909

The Laval sextet is a new one to Boston audiences, and vet in 1909 a game was played between Harvard and Laval in the rink then in the Stadium. Harvard won 3-0, in what is reported to have been a very close encounter.

Very little is known about the team. It is made up practically entirely of French-Canadians, as the line-up indicates. Ten men are making the trip to Boston and of these Matte and Fortier are the aggressive scorers.

The identical lineup which opposes the University this evening faced Princeton a little over a month ago, and in a great spurt in the closing period overtook the Tiger lead and finished the game with a 5 to 4 advantage.

Should Test Crimson

The strength of most Canadian hockey teams is proverbial, and it will be very unusual if Laval does not uncork a brand of hockey sufficiently strong to test the fitness of the University for the coming games with Yale and Dartmouth.

Another stiff contest in line is that with George Owen '23 and his University club team. Undefeated in the amateur league it has a 7-1 victory over Yale to its credit as well. In this game Owen scored four of his team's goals and in the other games his scores have played just as large a part.
