Two University runners and one Freshman finished under record time in the Yale cross-country races yesterday, which resulted in a fourth consecutive victory over the Blue, with a score of 16 to 39 for the University, and 18 to 37 for the Freshmen.

Captain J. L. Reid '29 bettered the five and one-eighth mile cross-country record set by Captain W. L. Tibbetts '26 in 1925 by 28 1-5 seconds, followed by J. O. Wildes '29, who also bettered the record, finishing five and 4-5 seconds under Tibbetts' time. Beecham Moore '31 cut three and 4-5 seconds from the three and one-half mile record set by W. G. Dooley '30 last year.

The first four places were-taken by the University runners. Leslie Flaksman '29 followed Reid and Wildes across the finish line, with R. G. Luttman '29 placing fourth. D. R. Jacobs '29, Yale, finished fifth, and G. B. Lee '30 took sixth tally for the University.

The Freshman team also took four out of the first five places, when Moore sprinted away from Captain F. R. O'Brien '31 of Yale, who had been fighting Moore for first place, but fell back to third. Captain R. C. Aldrich '31 passed O'Brien and finished second. R. J. Hodges '31 took fourth place, followed by H. D. Everett Jr. '31.

The decisive victory over Yale yesterday, with the two clean sweep records over Dartmouth and Massachusetts Agricultural College, makes the University cross-country team a decided favorite in the Intercollegiate races to be held in Van Cortlandt Park, New York, on November 21. Reid will give Cox of Pennsylvania strong competition for first place, according to Coach Jaakko Mikkola.

The summary of the University run follows:

Captain Reid (H), Wildes (H), Flaksman (H), Luttman (H), Jacob (Y), Lee (H), M. D. Smith (Y), Captain Ingham (Y), Pardridge (Y), Foote (Y). Time--27 m., 41 3-5 s. Score--Harvard 16, Yale 39.

The summary of the Freshman run follows:
