Through the foreboding of W. A. Purrington '73 that he would not survive a European trip last year, the University has become the beneficiary of $150,000 for research in medicine.
Mr. Purrington, a New York lawyer, did survive the trip, but died suddenly a few days afterwards.
He directed in his will that the University, should use the bequest at its discretion, "for research work in the field of medicine, with special reference to the application of medical knowledge to the special department of dentistry."
