Professor E. K. Rand '94, of the Classical Department, has recently had the honor of a degree of a Doctor of Literature bestowed on him by Manchester University, Manchester, England, in recognition of his valuable research work in mediaeval manuscripts and classical literature, according to an announcement last night.
Professor Rand is one of the greatest living authorities on classical literature. His recent book, "Ovid and His Influence", has been well received. He is prominent as editor, author and translator.
Professor Rand is now in France devoting his time to research work in the libraries of mediaeval monasteries.
