NEW PLAYWRIGHTS' GUILD TO HOLD OPEN MEETING TONIGHT

Informal Association of Dramatists to Convene in Ridgely Annex

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With its initial meeting tonight at 8 o'clock in Ridalev Annex the Harvard Playwrights' Guild, a recently formed organization of men interested in dramatization will commence its efforts to revive undergraduate interest in the art of working for the stage.

One of the main purposes of the Society is to attempt writing plays for production by the Dramatic Club. Harvard has graduated many prominent dramatists in former years and the new association hopes to stimulate renewed activity in this field.

At tonight's meeting two one-act plays will be read and discussed. One is by R.H. Weathered '29, the other by B.C. Schoenfeld '28, both on whom are prominent in undergraduate dramatic circles.

For the present the meetings of the Guild will be held in Ridgley Annex, under the auspices of the Dramatic Club. Although many of the organizers of the new circle are members of the Dramatic Club the two societies should not be confused with each other.

The meetings of the Guild will be conducted informally, and or authorities on playwriting and producing will address frequent intervals.
