STURTEVANT IS CHOSEN TO CAPTAIN LIGHTWEIGHT CREW

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Theadore Clark Sturtevant '27 of Newport, R. I. was elected captain of next year's 150 pound crew yesterday afternoon.

Sturtevant rowed on his Freshman lightweight eight, and last year was at 2 on the University 150-pound eight. This spring he did not row against Yale, but was again at 2 in the Henley race last Monday.

Sturtevant succeeds Dudley Merrill '26, who has stroked the crew for three years. Last year, when Merrill was captain, the crew won the Big Three Championship; this season, his eight was unsuccessful, although it did defeat Yale in the triangular race last month.

From this year's crew Sturtevant will have next year Ganz, Pool, Potter, Whiteside, and Bowditch, as well as Ogden, who was ill this season, and Gross, the coxswain.
