INVITATION REGATTA GETS UNDER WAY ON CHARLES

The annual Harvard Invitation regatta will open this afternoon at 3 o'clock with the novice singles race. The regatta will last until May 25 when it closes with the Carroll Cup race.

All races which are not specifically scheduled between Harvard boats are open to all memberes of the schools and clubs to which invitations have been sent.

The most important change in this year's program is the omission of the schoolboy races which were usually held on Thursday and Friday of the first week.

Today's races are as follows. 3.15 o'clock  Wherry Race 2.00 o'clock  Novice Singles 3.30 o'clock  Compromise Race 5.00 o'clock Harvard  150-pound eights
