JOHN HAYNES HOLMES COMES TO GIVE SPEECH ON GHANDI

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Rev. John Haynes Holmes '02, who recently spoke at the Ford Hall Forum in Boston on censorship, will speak at Phillips Brooks House next Friday evening, March 5, after a dinner in his honor to be given by the P. B. H. officials.

Dr. Holmes is a freethinker whose views on most subjects connected with the trend of modern thought differ widely from the generally accepted opinions of American clergymen. His subject in Friday's lecture will be "Mahatma Ghandi"

Dr. Holmes has written many important treatises on social and intellectual problems among the most important of which are "The Revolutionary Function of the Modern Church," "Marriage and Divorce" and "Is Violence the Way Out."

The lecture which Mr. Holmes was scheduled to give in early February was postponed because of the midyear examination period and Friday's lecture has been planned to take its place.
