The Governing Board of the Harvard Union announced last night that Assistant Professor E. A. Whitney '17 Chairman of the Board of Tutors in the department of History and Literature had accepted the Board's offer to become one of its members.
Professor Whitney was formerly president of the CRIMSON. During the last yew years he has served as an Assistant Dean of Harvard College.
Technically, membership on the Governing Board of the Union is of one year's duration, but reappointment of all the members by the president of the Board has been the custom for several years.
The Governing Board is composed of three graduates and three members of the faculty of the University. It has supreme control of the affairs of the Union, and the undergraduate officers are responsible to it.
