Light Practice the Rule in Final Preparation for Tiger Encounter

Slagle and Williams Loom as Leading Threats in Array of Princeton's Speedy Backs

With the Tiger clash only two days off, Coach Horween sent his football charges through one of the shortest work-outs of the season yesterday afternoon. The team has had its share of strenuous preliminary work and yesterday's brief session was calculated as part of the final finishing off process. The squad went through the usual kicking and signal drill and then finished the afternoon's work with half an hour's defensive dummy scrimmage against Princeton plays as executed by the ineligible "Princeton" combination.

Immediately after the practice was over, the entire squad of 36 athletes left for the Oakley Country Club, where they will stay, except for a short return for classes and practice today, until shortly before game time tomorrow.

Tigers Arrive This Morning

The invading squad of Orange and Black players is scheduled to arrive in Boston early this morning, and will try out the Stadium turf at 10 o'clock. Following a short drill the Tigers will repair to the Belmont Country Club to rest up for the big clash tomorrow.

The Tiger eleven which Coach Roper will send on the field for the opening whistle tomorrow is still very much of an unknown quantity. According to the usual progress of things in Princeton the team did not show much in its early games. Against Swarthmore last Saturday, however, the Orange and Black gave a hint of its real power. And with Slagle and Williams available tomorrow the Tigers will be a still diaerent proposition to stop.

Slagle, whose elusive speed has been the bane of eastern tacklers for the last two years, is likely to be on the side lines at the opening kick-off, but will be ready to enter the game at any moment. Slagle is not the only back who will give the Crimson forwards plenty to think about, since Williams, Prendergast, and Caulkins, all big factors in the Princeton victory of last year, will see action in tomorrow's contest.

Neither starting line-up has been definitely announced yet, three positions on the Harvard team still lacking Coach Horween's final decision. It seems almost certain, however, that Strong will start instead of Saltonstall and that Kilgour, veteran of two Princeton games will be in his guard position at the initial whistle. The backfield is settled except for the choice between Guarnaecia and French as running mate to Miller and Sayles. Guarnaccia is the present favorite for the starting berth, which would leave French as a dangerous threat in a relief role.

The hosts of Princeton supporters are scheduled to start arriving in Cambridge today. The exodus from Tigertown is expected to become general by afternoon, and long before game time Cambridge is preparing for an overflow of Orange and Black supporters. Although the attitude prevalent in the Harvard camp is far from that of overconfidence. Harvard men are quite ready to back, their team this year and Princeton bets are finding ready takers. So far the odds on all sides rule even
