DRAMATIC CLUB ANNOUNCES COMPLETE CAST FOR ITS FORTHCOMING PRODUCTION, "THE ORANGE COMEDY"

After a series of intensive rehearsals, the Dramatic Club last night announced the cast for its forthcoming production of "The Orange Comedy," to be presented at Brattle Hall on the evenings of December 7, 8 and 9, and at the Fine Arts Theatre in Boston on the afternoon and evening of December 10.

The play is an adaptation by Gilbert Seldes '14 of "The Love of the Three Oranges", an early eighteenth century Italian comedy by Carlo Gozzi. All the fantastic characters of the old Comedie del Arte, of which this play is a fine type, flaunt their explosive fun throughout the action of the play. Mr. Seldes has carefully revised Gozzi's original, and has made of the fairy tale that was its fabric, an amusing travesty on modern life and customs.

Bingham Plays Leading Role

Barry Bingham '28 will play the part of Harlequin, who is the central figure in the play. Bingham played the leading part in last spring's revival of "Brown of Harvard", and has had experience in other productions of the Dramatic Club.

Several other roles in the play will be filled by veteran actors of former years. The part of Sganerello belongs to K. A. Perry '28, who was a member of the east of "The Moon is a Gong", John Dos Passos' play which the Dramatic Club produced two years ago prior to its appearance on Broadway. D. L. Dickson '27, who will take the part of one of the stately ambassadors in the Italian piece, has played in every production of the Dramatic Club, including the miracle plays, since his Freshman year. Beside the ambassador's part, Dickson will play three other minor characters.

Radcliffe in Evidence

Radcliffe College will be represented by a large contingent in the cast. The leading feminine role of the Princess will be taken by Miss Mary Leonard, President of the Radcliffe Idlers; and Miss Mary Caperton, secretary of that organization, will interpret the character of Violetta. Miss Rhodita Edwards, a member of the Dramatic Club, casts for the past three years, will be in the ensemble.

Three Freshmen will play prominent parts, and a number of first-year men will fill the places of extras. Most of these men are experienced in preparatory school theatricals.

Edward Massey '15 is coaching the play. Mr. Massey is a former coach of Dramatic Club productions, but was absent last year, when he directed "The Moon is a Gong" on the New York stage.
