378 MEN WIN OUT IN DRAW FOR YARD

Two Cases of Duplication in Names Found by Committee--Chairmen of Groups Must Get Lease Cards

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Of the 458 members of the class of 1927 who applied for rooms in the Yard next year, 378 were successful, it was announced last night by the 1927 Dormitory Committee. Eighty men failed to win rooms in the Yard, compared to the number of 66 who were unsuccessful in last year's draw. The total of 378 successful Juniors represents an increase of 25 over the 353 men who won rooms in the first draw last year.

Lease Cards Must Be Secured

The rooms that have been left unassigned this year are two, Thayer 50, and Thayer 68, capable of holding four men. Application for these should be made to the University authorities in Lehman Hall. All questions by members of groups who were assigned rooms, should be referred to the same authorities. Group chairman must secure their lease cards during the next week, at the Bursar's Office. Any men who fall to do so before a week from today, it was announced, are liable to the forfeiture of their rooms.

Although several of the larger groups lost rooms because of failure to list sufficient choices which remained after the first dormitories had been assigned, nevertheless no applications were thrown out because of irregularity in form. There were two cases of duplication of fictitious name. "The Sextet from Lucia" which applied originally as a group of six won its rooms in Thayer, while the group of six with the same name which applied in its outside envelope as part of a group of 18 was unsuccessful. The group of two which applied as "O, Henry" was awarded its selected room in Thayer, while the single applicant who chose the same fictitious name, was unsuccessful.
