DURAND, FUOSS, WHITING AND CASTLE WIN AWARDS

Dana Bennett Durand '25 of Washington, D. C., Edward Sears Castle '25 of Belmont, Raymond Matthew Fuoss of Altoona, Pa., and Bartlett Jere Whiting '25 of East Northport, Me., have been awarded Frederick Sheldon Fellowships, according to an announcement made at University Hall yesterday.

Durand has thus won his third travelling fellowship, since both the CRIMSON essay contest, entitling him to a trip abroad, and one of the Russell travelling scholarships have been previously awarded to him. Fuoss recently won one of the University scholarships in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

The Sheldon fellowships, which are annually awarded to members of the graduating class who have distinguished themselves in study, provide for travel abroad or at some college, other than the University, in this country. They were given by Mrs. Amey Richmond Sheldon in her will, in memory of her husband, Frederick Sheldon of the class of 1842.
