JOHNSON TAKES FINALS IN HARVARD TOURNAMENT

H. B. Johnson of Newton High School won the thirty-fourth annual Harvard Interscholastic tennis tournament when he defeated Malcolm Hill of Loomis 6-0, 6-3, 6-1, on the Braeburn Country Club courts, whither the tournament had been adjourned when it was found that there was not sufficient time to play off the final round on Jarvis Field on Saturday afternoon.

Although Johnson, who also won the Yale Interscholastic title two weeks ago, emerges the individual victor, his school team ties for second place with Exeter, while Loomis School annexes the shield for the winning team with a total of 16 points. This is the second year in succession that Loomis has won the tournament.

B. H. Whitbeck of Loomis, who won the individual title last year, but whose chances of repeating were discounted by an injury to his shoulder, managed to reach the semi-final round in which he fell before Johnson 6-2, 6-0.

Wright of Loomis furnished quite a surprise on Saturday when he routed Ingraham of Exeter in the round before the semi-finals 6-1, 2-6, 7-5. This upset ruined Exeter's chances of victory. Andover failed to prove very powerful and merely succeeded in snatching fourth place, thus landing St. George's at the bottom of the ladder.
