Sodality Alumni Announce Organization of Concert Orchestra

Herbert Moore Hamblen '26 of Spokane, Washington, was elected president of the Pierian Sodality of 1808 for the coming year at a meeting held last night.

Donald Coats Gates '26 of New York City was chosen as vice-president of the organization, while Lee Osher Coombs '26 of Long Beach, California, and Forrest Foster Collier Jr. '27 of Cambridge were elected to the offices of Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

The Pierian Sodality Alumni, which was organized a year ago, has also announced that it has formed an orchestra composed exclusively of former members of the University organization. The new orchestra will give its first public concert on May 14 at the annual banquet of the Tremont Temple Brotherhood in Ford Hall.

The alumni orchestra numbers 45 and is under the leadership of Mr. Albert R. MacKusick '99. The Alumni organization has a total of 135 members, one-half of whom live outside Massachusetts.
