CRIMSON CREWS TO TRAIN AT PRINCETON

Two University crews will go to Princeton for a week of practice during the spring vacation this year, according to an announcement made last night. Coach Stevens will be in charge of the oarsmen and C. H. Weymer '27, second assistant manager, and a rigger to take care of the two shells, will complete the squad.

Rowed 15 Miles Every Day

The spring training trip was inaugurated last year when two eights left the rough water on the Charles, and enjoyed a week of rowing on the calm waters of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia. The Crimson crews rowed an average daily distance of 15 miles in Philadelphia, and Coach Stevens declared on his return to Cambridge that the trip had proved of inestimable value to the men.

The crews will entrain for Princeton either April 18 or April 19. In addition to the 18 oarsmen, two substitutes will be taken along. The trip is strictly for training purposes, and no races will be rowed with Princeton crews.

May Decline Club's Hospitality

Although the University squad has been invited to stay at one of the clubs in Princeton, the invitation may be refused because of the prolonged visit of the Crimson oarsmen.

Continued mild weather, and an almost complete disappearance of ice enabled the coaches to continue rowing on the Charles yesterday afternoon. In addition to Coach Haines' Freshman squad which went out in the Leviathan, Coach Stevens had three University eights on the water in barges.

Coach Brown held a meeting of his class crew oarsmen in Newell boathouse yesterday. He announced that he will not make up his crews until next week. There was a noticeable scarcity of coxswains at the meeting, and this deficiency is true of the entire rowing squad. A blue book has been-posted in Leavitt and Peirce's and a call made for candidates to sign up in this book.
