Swimming has replaced squash racquets as the most popular winter sport, according to figures given out yesterday at the office of Daniel J. Kelly, Assistant Director of Physical Education.

The number of men who reported for squash this year has slumped from 160 to 147, in contrast to 230 for the winter season two years ago. There were 106 men who signed up for swimming in 1923, 123 last year, and 174 this winter. Out of this number, 62 are unable to swim, while the other 112 are taking swimming merely for recreation.

The figures for the past three years follow: 1925  1924  1923 Basketball  81  106  60 Boxing  54  70  78 Fencing  48  48  43 Gymnasium  12  77  98 Handball  45  17  22 Squash  147  160  230 Swimming  174  123  106 Wrestling  24  42  29 Crew  103  117  95 Hockey  66  57  45 Track  64  57  45 Hiking  27  --  -- Totals  845  874  851
