CHEEK FORWARDS APOLOGY FOR GOAL POST INCIDENT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The unfortunate incident of tearing down the goal-posts after Saturday's encounter with Brown at Providence, already generally condemned by undergraduate sentiment, was yesterday officially apologized for by M. A. Cheek, Jr. '26, President of the Student Council and Captain of the football team.

Cheek's letter to the Brown Daily Herald follows:

To the Student Body of Brown University:

"The action of a few unthinking enthusiasts in tearing down the Brown goal posts at the end of the game on Saturday calls for an apology from the Harvard Student Body.

"We deeply regret that such an action should have taken place to mar a day otherwise made notable by the prevalence of good spirit. (Signed) M. A. Cheek, Jr. "President Harvard Student Council 1925-26."
