An especial plea has been made by Coaches Edward Stevens and H. H. Haines to have inexperienced 1928 men report for crew this Fall. "In no other sport", Coach Stevens has said, "does the man without experience have the opportunity he has in crew. Inexperience is not a handicap."
A large Freshman squad is expected to begin active work this afternoon under Coach Haines and his two assistants, A. J. Hobson Jr. '24, and J. R. Hoover '24. The initial workout will consist of a short drill on the machines.
Men with previous experience will be located probably tomorrow and assigned seats in shells. Others will be kept on the machines, where under the personal surveillance of Coach Haines, they will remain until sufficiently qualified to go out in shells.
