Today all the College will unite in playing host to the incoming members of the class of 1928.
In addition to meeting their faculty advisers and arranging their courses of study for the coming year, the Freshmen will be the guests of honor at three meetings which are being held during the day. A Chapel service, a meeting of the class in the New Lecture Hall, and a reception in the Union this evening are all features of today's program.
In Appleton Chapel this morning from 8.45 to 9 o'clock President Lowell will conduct a chapel service for the Freshmen.
Chapel Not Restricted to Freshmen
Although the service will be conducted especially for the members of the class of 1928, other members of the University have also been invited.
At 9 o'clock the entire class, saving only the dropped Freshmen will gather in the New Lecture Hall to hear Assistant Dean Delmar Leighton '19, Secretary of the Committee on the Choice of Electives, explain the various regulations which govern the choice of studies.
In the evening, at 8 o'clock, the Union will be the scene of the annual meeting at which students will be welcomed by officers of the University President Lowell will give the opening address, as has been the tradition at Freshman receptions, for many years. He will be followed by Professor Edward Caldwell Moore, chairman of the Board of Preachers: Professor Edwin Francis Gay. Hen '18, former Dean of the Business School and for four years editor of the New York Evening Post. Assistant Dean Edward Allen Whitney '17 in charge of the Freshman Class. and Robert Holbrook Hopkins '22. head proctor of Standish Hall.
