Many upsets featured the final matches of the Harvard Interscholastic tennis tournament which was played off Saturday afternoon on the Divinity courts. The individual championship, which was expected to fall either to Johnson or to Turner, went to B. H. Whitbeck of Loomis after a five set struggle with W. B. Evans of Andover, the final score being 5-7, 6-8, 6-4, 6-3, 6-1. Whitbeck is the brother of J. F. W. Whitbeck '27, who would have played on the Freshman team this year, had he not been inelligible.
As was expected, Loomis won the silver shield given by the H. A. A. with a total of 20 points; Exeter was second with 17; and Newton and Andover tied for third with 14 each.
