Lundell and Haggerty Score Brilliant Double Victories in Freshman Meet

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

While the University track team was going down to defeat before the Yale trackmen in the Stadium on Saturday afternoon, the Crimson Freshmen took a still more decisive beating at the hands of the Yale first year men, by the score of 85 to 50.

Harvard's moments of triumph came in the sprints and middle distances, when Captain Lundell took first place over both the century and furlong distances, and Haggerty running a pair of remarkable races, led in both the half mile and the mile.

Elis Score Heavily in Field Events

Elsewhere the Crimson showing was pretty drab. Yale piled up 48 points in the field events, cleaning up the first places everywhere except in the high jump, where Hollis tied for first with Conway and Deacon of Yale. Miller scored four points for the Freshmen on the field, taking second place in the shotput and third in the javelin, while Captain Lundell, in addition to winning 10 points on the track, took third place in the shotput and added another point of his team's scant total.
