REJUVENATED NINE MEETS PURPLE TODAY

The rejuvenated Crimson nine will try to maintain its momentum against William this afternoon at Soldiers Field at 4 o'clock. Coach, Slattery hopes to lake Williams and Amherst. Thursday's opponents, in stride and go to Princeton Saturday with confidence bred by a streak of victories.

William is, however, no mean opponent. The Purple won a 2 to 1 decision from Harvard a year ago with Clement pitching a masterly game. Clement is plated to take to mound again today. The former Exeter twirler gave the Crimson only six hits last year and was unperturbed by the eight errors that his backers contributed. Mallon, Williams, short-stop, made the unenviable record that day of six misplays in eight chances. Clement is also a football star. He played full back and led the team in scoring last fall.

Captain O'Brien is Brilliant Fielder

Other Williams dependable are Captain O'Brien; a brilliant fielding third baseman; Buck, center fielder for four years and lead-off man in the batting order; and fisher, hard hitting right field.

Both fisher and Captain-O'Brien were out of the line-up with injuries for a month this spring, and the Purple had an unimpressive early record. The team has come into its own in the past fortnight, however, and Clement handed New York University a 4 to 0 shut-out last-Saturday. The New Yorkers had been most successful up to that time numbering among their victories a 5 to 3 triumph over Yale. However, Williams was beaten by Boston College Yesterday by 10 to 3.

Toulmin will probably pitch for Harvard with Brown as an outside chance. Coach Slattery will almost certainly hold Spalding in reserve for the invasion of Tigers' lair on Saturday.

Owing to a minor, injury, Campbell will be unable to play at first base. His place will be taken this afternoon by Norris.'
