Coach Newell's 150-pound B crew left yesterday morning for New Haven where it will strive to outdo the efforts of corresponding crews from Yale and Princeton. This crew secured the right to represent the University in this event it week ago Thursday, prior to the four length defeat by the Pennsylvania light crew last Monday.
Only one change has been made in the line-up since Monday's race Taft, from the A crew, has gone in at number two for Kennard, who with J.G.W. Thomas and Captain Prince, accompanied the eight to New Haven as substitutes. The oarsmen reached New Haven shortly after noon yesterday and took a workout on Lake Housatonic before evening.
The lineup of this crew is: stroke Merrill; 7. Blaney; 6, Walgren; 5. Morrill; 4, Jenney; 3. Collins; 2, Taff; bow, Ames; cox., Bear.
The Invitation Regatta has three more days before its close on Tuesday. In the leading event of yesterday's schedule, the school egihts race, Kent School whisked across the mile mark two lengths ahead of its closest rival, Lynn Classical High, while Huntington and Brookline trailed in succession shortly after.
