VISITATION WEEK IS STARTED

Ropes, Lake, Lowell Speak on First Day of Annual Gathering

"Visitation Week" at the Theological School was officially begun yesterday by a devotional service conducted by Dean Sperry, Dean of the School, at Andover Chapel. Following this Professor J. H. Ropes '89, Hollis Professor of Divinity and Dexter Lecturer on Biblical Literature, gave an address on "the Preparation of the Minister".

The keynote of Professor Kirsopp Lake's lecture on "The Creeds" was that the church is the safeguard of the windows of life not the control of the light. A dinner at the Union at 6 o'clock at which President Lowell spoke, closed the first day's exercises.
