Telegraphic report was received last night to the effect that the Freshman rifle team defeated the Yale 1927 shooters by the score of 495 to 489. Captain W. E. Trevvett '27 and C. F. Avila 1E. S. were the individual stars for the 1927 outfit, each shooting a perfect score of 100.
This victory is the fifth for the Freshman team, with two defeats also in their record. Princeton and Yale have both been defeated, and the team is now eager to beat the University when it shoots against Captain Gray's outfit next Saturday.
The individual scores of the 1927 team were as follows: W. E. Trevvett, 100; C. F. Avila, 100; S. A. Buckingham, 99;J. A. Volkmann, 98; D. H. Jones, 98.
