PLANS BY ELIOT AND HUDSON RANK HIGH IN PEACE CONTEST
President-Emeritus Favored Conference at Washington To Solve Problem
That President Eliot was among the contestants who submitted plans for the Book Peace Prize was made public Saturday, when synopses of some of the plans submitted were made public. President Eliot proposed that the United States call a conference at Washington of all the nations of the world to develop a "practicable plan" for world peace. His program would be formulated by 11 committees considering the further reduction of armaments and ten other matters.
Other Harvard men who competed for the prize were Professor Mauley O. Hudson L.L.B. '10. Bemis Professor of International Law in the Law School, and Dr. Nathan Isaacs, lecturer on Business Law in the Business School.
