Victory in Final Bout Gives Yale 1927 14-11 Triumph

The Freshman wrestling team experienced its first defeat of the season on Saturday night when the Yale 1927 team emerged from an interesting and exciting bout with the long end of a 14 to 11 score. The Crimson first year men won three of the first four bouts but the score was tied at 11 to 11 when R. W. Ayre of the Harvard team met and lost to Preston in the final tussle.

115-Pound Class.--B. C. Turner (R) defeated Goldberger (Y) by decision.

125-Pound Class.--Stearns (Y) defeated M. B. Rapoport (H) by decision.

135-Pound Class.--J. C. Hinkle (H) defeated Lipson (Y) by decision.

145-Pound Class.--H. R. Wood (H) defeated Wood (Y) by a fall.

158-Pound Class.--Carr (Y) defeated H. B. Moody (H) by a fall.

175-Pound Class.--Wolfe (Y) (captain) defeated D. H. Campbell (H) by decision.

Unlimited Class.--Preston (Y) defeated R. W. Ayre (H) by decision.
