Jean Bedetti, violoncellist, will be the soloist at the Boston Symphony Orchestra's concert in Saunders Theatre at 8.00 o'clock this evening.
Mr. Bedetti has been a soloist for the Symphony Orchestra for a number of years having joined the company from France. He has already appeared before Boston audiences this winter; but his playing tonight will be the first in Cambridge since 1921. His special number on the program is a concert by Saint-Saens in a minor strain.
The program follows:
Brahms Symphony No. 3 in F major, Op. 90.
Saint-Saens, Concerto for Violoncello and Orchestra in A minor, Op. 33.
Richard Strauss. Tone Poem, "Tod und Verklarung" ("Death and Transfiguration"), Op. 24.
