1927 WILL CHOOSE ITS LEADERS AT POLLS TODAY

After five leaderless months in the University, the class of 1927 will elect today the officers who will guide it for the remainder of the year. The balloting will take place at Standish Hall from 8 in the morning until 6 at night and at Sever Hall from 8.30 to 1 o'clock.

The Student Council's committee on Freshman affairs issued a statement last night explaining the rules governing the voting as follows:

"The system of preferential voting by the Australian ballot will be used as usual. Each voter shall indicate his order of preference for all the candi- dates for each office except that of Student Council member. A first choice shall count one, a second two, and so, the candidate with the lowest numerical total being declared elected. Any ballot on which all the candidates for an office have not been voted upon shall be cast out for that office. It should be noted, however, that only one name should be marked for the Student Council member.

"Sixty percent of the class must vote in order to make the election valid. If an insufficient number of votes are cast, further ballotings will be held at intervals of not more than ten days and the only eligible voters will be those who have not already voted. The ballotings will be held until a sufficient number of votes have been cast."
