Following the approval of the Athletic Committee, it was announced last night that the University Squash Racquets team will only wait for Captain Dixon to play his State finals match with Peabody before journeying to New York to play two metropolitan teams on Saturday and Sunday.
Plans for a match in New York with Yale fell through, but it is still hoped that the Ells can send five men to Cambridge in the near future. The two aggregations which the Crimson champions will meet are the Tennis and Racquet Club, tomorrow at 3 o'clock, and the University Club on Sunday at 3 o'clock in each case on the opponent's courts. The team will play in the order of their last match, in which they clinched the state championship.
Captain W. P. Dixon has a stiff week end ahead of him. Today at 4 o'clock he meets C. C. Peabody in the finals of the Massachusetts State Tournament. Tomorrow at 3, he will meet Captain Macllwaine of the Racquet Club, reputedly one of the best metropolitan players; and on Sunday at 3 he will encounter the metropolitan champion, Captain Ells, of the strong University Club combination.
