Freshman Squad Given First Drill on Charlesbank Rinks

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

For the first time this season, the 1928 hockey candidates had the use of the Charlesbank rinks yesterday afternoon. Coach. J. H. Dempsey '23 put the entire squad through a hard drill which lasted about two hours.

Although the process of weeding out has already begun, there has been no attempt as yet to choose a first team. The squad now numbers 30 men, and this number will be reduced gradually until approximately 15 men remain on the squad.

The ice yesterday was in excellent condition and afforded Coach Dempsey a chance to give all the men an equal chance to prove their worth. Four teams were picked from among the Freshmen and Second team men by the coaches and put through a hard scrimmage.
