POLO TEAM TO MEET YALE NIGHT BEFORE ELI FOOTBALL GAME

Play at Commonwealth Armory But Three Times a Week--Good Material Helps Prospects Against Blue

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Most University teams make the Yale game the climax of their season, but the Crimson polo team will open its schedule with a game with the Elis on Friday evening, November 21, at the New Haven armory. An invitation was received recently from Yale inviting the University team to play there on the eve of the Harvard-Yale football game, and Captain S. F. Clark, coach of the team, announced last night that the game had definitely been arranged.

Crimson Practice is Limited

The University horsemen are restricted to three days of practice a week in the Commonwealth Armory, and as permission to use the armory was only granted ten days ago, Captain Clark has had very little time in which to develop a strong combination. With five letter men back, however, and several promising Freshman players out, the prospects are encouraging. In G. E. Kent '25, last year's captain, F. D. Stranahan '26, R. A. Pinkerton '27, and Alexander Shaw '28, Coach Clark has four men who are experienced players. Three of them were regulars last year, and Shaw played on the Dedham polo team during the summer.

Plan Future Practice Clashes

After the Yale clash a series of games will be played, some at the Commonwealth Armory, and some away from home. Among the teams which Captain Clark expects to oppose are the 101st Field Artillery, the 110th Cavalry, and various civilian teams including the Essex horsemen. Last year several practice games were played with the Artillery outfit. This fall a practice contest is planned for every Friday afternoon at about 5 o'clock.

Coach Clark also expects to enter his team in the indoor intercollegiate polo matches, and games will be scheduled with Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Pennsylvania Military College, and West Point.

As soon as the indoor season is over, the four man line-up will be formed and practice for the outdoor matches will commence.
