Following a custom of many year's standing, the University has again named the 12 oldest living graduates. Of these probably the most active is Charles William Eliot '53, President of Harvard University emeritus, who celebrated his 90th birthday last March.
Ten of these 12 "Grand Old Men" were born in Massachusetts, and seven now reside in this state. Of these men, three reside in Cambridge, and four life in the near vicinity. The oldest is 93 and the youngest 86. They are arranged in chronological order as follows:
G. A. Peabody '52, resident of Danvers, age 93.
R. M. Moulton '53, resident of Illeet Villaine, Villa Moulton, France, age 91.
Louis Arnold '55, resident of West Roxbury, age 91.
E. H. Abbot '55, resident of Cambridge, age 90.
J. K. Hosmer '55, resident of Minneapolis, Minn., age 90.
C. A. Daniels '59 resident of Malden, age 90.
C. W. Eliot '53, resident of Cambridge, age 90.
F. B. Bromberg '58, resident of Mobile, Ala., age 87.
G. B. Merrill '59, resident of New Bedford, age 87.
A. T. Winn '59, resident of Novato, Calif., age 87.
Winslow Warren '59, resident of Dedham, age 86.
E. W. Metcalf '59, resident of Cambridge, age 86.
