TEAM LOOKS BETTER IN LONG SCRIMMAGE

The great football machine which Percy D. Haughton set in motion 16 years ago will cease functioning for one day in honor of his memory. The world-famous gridiron coach will be buried this afternoon. Consequently all football practice will be suspended.

Yesterday Coach Fisher ran the squad through another long scrimmage. It was the Crimson players turn to romp through the scrubs. They scored five touchdowns, two by McGlone and three by Braden. The blackshirts failed to dent the Harvard line even to the extent of tallying a first down.

Dean and Beale started at the ends, Nash and Taylor at the tackles, Corcoran and Daniell at the guards, and Gamache at center. McGlone and Stafford alternated at quarterback, and Puffer, Brown, Howe, Braden, and Mahar at the other backfield berths.

Team Shows Power and Alertness

Both McGlone's counts came after a series of rushes from the 35-yard line. Team A showed more power and alertness than it had since the middle of last week. Two of Braden's touchdowns occurred when the Crimson team got the ball on downs, and the third by an intercepted pass which put the ball well within the scrubs' territory.

The remainder of Coach Fisher's squad divided up into small groups for individual coaching. The injured players are slowly drifting back to practice, but it seems unlikely that they will be pressed into action against Boston University on Saturday. Coach Fisher will not go to the extreme Coach Roper of Princeton has by walking his men through signal drill, but he will undoubtedly use all the ordinary caution he can in preserving his first string material for the Princeton battle.

May Start Subs Saturday

It is, therefore, very difficult to say who will start on Saturday. Very probably some of the players who have not had an opportunity to display their talent in the early season games will be given that chance against B. U.

The backfield may be drawn from among the seven who played today. They are all short and stockily built. and have all shown marked ability when called upon this fall, either in scrimmages or games.

Dean and Beals very possibly will start at the ends; Taylor or Nash, and Greenough at the tackles; Daniell, Hoague, Corcoran or Bradford at the Guards and Gamache or Holder at center
