CORNERSTONE OF RADCLIFFE HALL LAID BY BRIGGS

Le Baron Russell Briggs '75, President of Radcliffe College Emeritus, and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in the University yesterday layed the cornerstone of the new Radcliffe dormitory, called Briggs Hall in his honor.

The ceremony marked the formal dedication of the new buildings. Students who are living in it formed a procession and escorted President Comstock and President Emeritus Briggs to the end of the structure. Here the former made a brief address describing the things that had been sealed within the corner stone. These included a photograph of President Emeritus Briggs, a picture of President Comstock, the names of those who contributed towards the cost of the new dormitory, a recent Radcliffe pamphlet, the Red Book and the latest copy of the Radcliffe News. President Emeritus Briggs then delivered a short speech of dedication and fixed the cornerstone in place with a trowelful of mortar.

The building is the gift of a large number of graduates and friends of the University, including contributions made by various Radcliffe classes at graduation.
