DEBATING TEAM RECRUITS RANKS FOR OXFORD CLASH

Will Hold Preliminary Trials at 7 Tonight in Harvard Hall--Candidates Must Attack or Support Ruhr Policy

The preliminary trials for the members of the University debating squad will be htld this evening at 7 o'clock in Harvard Hall. The team which will represent the University in the second Oxford-Cambridge debate to be held in Symphony Hall on or about October 8 will be picked from the squad chosen tonight by the coaches, Mr. B. H. Kuhns and Mr. C. H. Weldon Jr. Each candidate will be asked to make a five-minute speech either supporting or condemning the French policy in the Ruhr which has been chosen as the subject of the debate.

It was announced that men who cannot be present at the trials this evening may try out tomorrow at a time and place to be announced, provided that they leave their names with the coaches tonight or leave written notice at 5 Russell Hall before 6.30 o'clock tonight.
