New Haven, Conn., September 21, --Coach T. A. D. Jones has announced that George Connors, veteran Exeter trainer and track coach, has been secured as trainer for the Yale football team this fall as a successor to Trainer John Mack. Yale authorities refused to deny the rumor that Coach Connors in the spring would be in charge of the Yale track team. Exeter authorities announced last night that Connors would remain a member of the Academy faculty but had been granted a year's absence.
Connors and Jones have been close friends ever since the time the latter was head coach at Exeter before going to Yale, and the present agreement had been expected ever since a conference between Connors and Jones on September 12. This fall Connors will be first, assistant coach to Jones.
