With a total of 61 1-2 points Andover defeated Exeter on Saturday by almost 20 points for the third successive time in the thirty-eighth annual interscholastic track meet held under the auspices of the H. A. A. Despite the steady drizzle which made the track slow, several of the performances were unusually good, especially that of O'Neil.

Exeter took an easy second place with 42 points, while Huntington with 18 1-2 points nosed out Worcester, winner of third place last year. Both teams held a decisive lead over Medford which finished fifth.

Andover's-40 entries scored at least one point in each of the 14 events, and won six firsts and six seconds. Exeter took three first places, Huntington and Worcester two each, while Moore won the broad jump for Medford's only score.

Although O'Neil's remarkable performance in the half-mile was the feature of the afternoon, the mile and quarter-mile were also run in fast time. Allen of Andover, coming from the rear with a wonderful spurt in the last 100 yards, captured the quarter by two yards in 51 and three-fifths seconds.

Crossing from the outside position to the pole, Clauson of Worcester led for the first 100 yards of the mile with a fast pace. At the end of the first lap, however, he had dropped to fifth place, which he held easily, coming up to a challenging position in third place at the end of the half. He took second on the near turn of the third lap and sprinted past Smith of Andover, winning by five yards in 4 minutes, 38 and two-fifths seconds.
