After three weeks of spring practice the soccer team will meet Northeastern University at 3 o'clock on Soldiers Field this afternoon in the initial game of the season.
The prospects are very bright for a successful season next fall as 25 men are reporting regularly to Coach Welch, who intends to use the majority of them in tomorrow's contest in order to give the new material an opportunity to show its worth in actual scrimmage.
Captain F. G. Wale '25, the outstanding University player on the defence, will be unable to participate in the game today because of injuries he received earlier in the week. The whole forward line is composed of new material and members of the former Freshman team.
The Northeastern soccer team will also open its spring season today. The outstanding player on the visiting team is Captain Frost, who formerly played on amateur English teams.
