Last night, at Hemenway gymnasium, in a meet the outcome of which was in doubt until the result of the final event, the M. I. T. gym team defeated the University by the score of 24 1-2 to 20 1-2.
For the University, Captain H. A. Wood '24 starred, placing first in the horizontal and parallel bars, and tying for third place in the horse event with Brink of M. I. T. In winning the tumbling event, M. H. Parsonnet '25 showed excellent form.
The University team has two more meets this year. On March 16 it will oppose Princeton in. Hemenway gymnasium, and on March 22 will go to Annapolis to compete in the intercollegiate meet.
The results of the meet last night were:
Horizontal Bars.--Won by H. A. Wood '24 (H); second, King (M.I.T.); third. B. S. Wood '25 (B).
Horse. Won by Vicinus (captain) (M. I. T.); second, Turner (M. I. T.); third, tie between H. A. Wood '24 (B) and Brink (M. I. T.).
Parallel Bars. Won by H. A. Wood '24 (B); second, McCoy (M. I. T.); third, Ruiz (M. I. T.).
Tumbling.--Won by M. H. Parsonnet '25 (H); second, J. R. Weist '24 (H); third, Caldwell (M. I. T.).
Flying Rings. Won by McCoy (M. I. T.); second, Shea (M. I. T.); third, A. W. Dole '24 (H)
