Completely outclassing their less-experienced opponents the University fencing team shut out the Bowdoin foilsmen 9 matches to 0 in the Hemenway gymnasium Saturday afternoon. It was the first match of the season for both teams.
E. H. Lane '24, the University captain, showed the best form of the afternoon, allowing his three opponents to touch him only four times. Captain Quinby of Bowdoin was the outstanding foilsman for the visitors.
