This evening at 8 o'clock the University wrestling team will meet the M. I. T. matmen at the new Recreation Building at Technology. The University will be handicapped by the absence of E. H. Bates '25, who is out because of a ligament pulled in practice last week.
The University team so far has won three meets and lost one. The season opened with a victory over the strong Boston Y. M. C. A. team by the score of 16 to 8. Columbia, who is a keen contestant for the intercollegiate title this year, conquered the Crimson in the next encounter 16 to 11. In the last two meets, the University team has overcome strong opposition, beating Dartmouth 23 to 8, and Norwich 21 to 8. The Technology wrestlers have been defeated in their recent meets, losing 15 to 8 and 17 to 8 decisions to West Point and Lehigh respectively.
H. B. Wagner '23, who will wrestle for the University in the heavyweight class, has shown great strength recently gaining a fall against both Dartmouth and Norwich.
The bouts will be as follows:
115-Pound Class.--Bruner (M. I. T.) vs. H. A. Bronstein '25.
125-Pound Class.--Norwood (M. I. T.) vs. L. B. Smith '25.
135-Pound Class.--Wetherley (M. I. T.) vs. H. J. Freedman '23 (captain).
145-Pound Class.--Pike (M. I. T.) vs. Curtis Nelson '24.
158-Pound Class.--Hereford (M. I. T.) (captain) vs. D. W. Evans 2E.S.
175-Pound Class.--Greer or Kennett (M. I. T.) vs. M. R. Werman '24.
Heavyweight.--Heath (M. I. T.) vs. H. B. Wagner '23.
