INFIELD AND OUTFIELD MEN START WORK TODAY

Candidates for all infield and outfield positions on the University baseball team will begin work in the cage today at 2.30 o'clock. Probably the two best infield men who are expected to report are C. C. Buell '23 who plays third base, and Percy Jenkins '24, last year's second baseman who is likely to be shifted to shortstop this year to take the place of A. J. Conlon '22. J. W. Hammond '25 will take his place at second base after the close of the hockey season, and Captain George Owen Jr. '23 at the same time will be ready to fill his position at first.

Among the outfielders the most promising men are D. F. Thayer '23, Lewis Gordon '24, and J. S. Clark Jr. '23, all three prominent veterans of last year's team. Gordon, however, will be unable to report until the end of the basketball season.

The work of the battery candidates is becoming more intensive as the men get limbered up. On the pitching staff K. N. Hill '24 stands out as the University's chief reliance with J. E. Toulmin '25 a strong bidder for the position. L. C. Larrabee '24 will probably serve throughout the season a first string catcher with A. H. Keegan '23 and A. W. Samborski '25 for substitutes.
