PERSONNEL OF TWO RELAY TEAMS SELECTED AS A RESULT OF TIME TRIALS

Time trials held yesterday afternoon resulted in the choice of three runners by Coach Martin to complete the line-up of the long and short distance relay teams for the Knights of Columbus games in Mechanics Building on Saturday evening.

For the long relay race J. H. Sherburne '24 was definitely chosen to run--probably third man in the race. W. L. Chapin '25 will lead off, with J. E. Merrill '24 and Sherburne following, and Captain J. W. Burke '23 at anchor. This line-up is different from that of the team which ran against Yale in the B. A. A. games; since Merrill, who ran against M. I. T., has replaced Campbell Newhall '24.

For the short relay race with M. I. T., a new event on the Knights of Columbus program this year, Coach Martin picked Percy Jenkins '24 and T. R. Hull '25. The other two men, previously chosen, are Vinton Chapin '23 and J. S. Murphy Jr. '25. This line-up is totally different from that of the B. A. A. meet in which the Crimson runners were defeated by the M. I. T. combination. Chapin will probably lead off as he did in the other race. It is not at all unlikely that Captain Burke will be substituted at the last minute at anchor in this race also, since it was his sprint on the last lap which almost won the race ten days ago.

On account of the storm yesterday, the squad was given only a light workout, while the division of the squad was again postponed till today.

The Freshman track team will enter its second meet tomorrow evening at the Y. M. C. A. against Huntington School. Final trials will be held this afternoon to determine how many of the entries made Monday will actually compete in the meet.
