INVITES SCHOOLBOYS TO CAMPAIGN DINNER

The committee in charge of the University's Student Friendship' drive has invited preparatory schools in the vicinity of Boston, who are holding similar drives, to send representatives to a dinner at the Union on January 7, according to an announcement yesterday by F. T. Baldwin '24, chairman of the committee. Students from more than 25 prominent schools, including Andover, Exeter, Middlesex, and Groton are expected to be present.

The dinner will mark the inauguration of a drive for $5000 to relieve European students. Speakers from the University, Boston and New York will tell about the need for the work of relief, and the methods by which it is being carried out. Professor M. O. Hudson '10 of the Law School has already consented to speak. In addition, the committee will explain to the collectors how the drive will be conducted.

During the three years of the existence of the European Student Relief Association, American college students have contributed $230,000. This year the Fund is asking for $176,000, more because of the desperate need in Central Europe which can be relieved in no other way. With this year's gift of $5000, the University will share in this work for the first time since 1921.
